At last!

Hello to all of my blog-fans... I'm finally here. I graced the world with my presence at 7:59pm on Saturday November 28th, 10 days early of my miscalculated due date. Those doctors don't know what they're talking about. Can't wait to meet all of you and I hope you enjoy the picture. It's a little clearer than the last one.

On my way...

So mom and dad woke up at 2am on Friday morning and went shopping at the outlets in the hopes that it would induce labor. Well, it worked! Check out our digs and think about me because I should be arriving by this evening.

Longest two weeks evvverrrr

I understand that everyone has to go through this, but good lord these days are crawling by. I don't get it. My head is positioned really low. Most of the cheesy substance is falling off my skin. I figured they call it full term for a reason. I'm ready. My mom is ready. She packed her hospital bag. She made my dad install the car seat base. He might have done it wrong, but that's not the point of this blog posting. The point is that I don't want a Christmas birthday. I don't want people to just lump me together with baby Jesus and give me a double gift for Christmas. Double gifts are the worst. I want my own day with my own cake and I don't want to have to blow out candles on a pumpkin pie. I don't want my birth announcement to be red and green.
But wouldn't it just figure that mom and dad already put up the Christmas tree. They've already been listening to the "Sounds of the Season" music channel on TV. If I hear The Carpenters' "Home for the Holidays" one more time, I don't know what I'm going to do. And it's not even December.

Showered with love

As you can see, I have accumulated quite the collection of baby stuff. Many thanks to all of my parents' friends and our family for their generosity! I am also generous. In fact, I am so generous that I have decided to share my bedroom with my parents until they find a room of their own. But with the limited space, I'm not sure where they're going to sleep once I arrive. I hope they don't think I'm going to be okay with Sportscenter before bed every night. And it looks like my roommates are a little messy. My thoughts are that with the way that air mattress technology has come along, they might want to think about setting one up in the family room.

Pretty in Pink

Great news, I'm not going to be the only little boy wearing pink and green clothes. And I know everyone says this, but that's not really what I look like. The photographer was really into the whole candid thing, which I hate, and the lighting is TERRIBLE in here. But you can see that I do have a really cute nose and those lips are all natural. I am already over 19 inches long and weigh over 6 lbs with really long legs. My mom is not dilated yet, which means the baby slide is still closed, but the new ETA is December 5th. I also like to hold on to my umbilical cord, which may seem weird to you, but there is not a lot to do in here and anything helps pass the time. Tomorrow night we're going to check out the hospital so I'll fill you in when I get another chance and I can't wait to show you pictures of all of the stuff I've gotten from my mom and dad's friends and family!

Starting to wonder

Rumor has it my parents are in their mid to late twenties, but after another thrilling Friday night spent on the couch, I'm starting to wonder. They eat dinner in front of the tv and watch their "programs" on dvr (i.e. 60 minutes); those dinners have included pot roast, chicken & dumplings, and stuffed pork chops all in the past month; they are usually in bed by 9:30 and that includes weekends, unless they decide to babysit; and I think the last time either of them drank a glass of wine was that magical night back in February. Given all of that, I'm worried they might be taking me from the hospital back to a group home. Please help me and help them get out a little bit.
Also, an exciting few days coming up for me. The last baby shower is on Saturday, 36-week full-term sonogram is on Monday, and hospital tour is on Tuesday. Try to contain your excitement. I have been so excited that I've been doing almost nonstop somersaults in here fore the past 2 days.

Girl Stuff

Now that I'm 35 weeks old, I'm developing into a young lady and noticing some real changes in my body. I have my own kidneys, my own liver and my sense of hearing is developed. I'm also getting a little chubby. It's hard not be self conscious when you've doubled your weight in a couple of months and I try not to think about it too much. But I can't do it alone and these horizontal stripes are not very slimming.

It's getting a little cramped in here

I've spent the last eight months with my ankles next to my ears floating in jelly and I've had about enough of it. I'm not sure if the world is ready for me, but I am ready for it. I keep hearing my parents complain about how hard it's going to be living in a one bedroom apartment with all of my baby stuff and nowhere to put it. All I have to say about that is try sharing a crawl space with two lungs, a liver and a pair of kidneys and then get back to me. And could someone explain to me why it smells like olive oil in here?
